Ironhaven Backup

Ironhaven Backup covers both halves of the job: routine copies of the files you change every day, and a complete image of the disk that can put an entire system back the way it was. Images can be restored to different hardware, so a failed machine does not mean rebuilding everything from scratch.

After the first full run, backups are incremental — only the blocks that changed are written, which keeps a nightly schedule down to minutes rather than hours. Retention rules thin out old versions automatically, keeping daily copies for a fortnight, weekly copies for a few months and monthly copies for as long as you specify, so the backup target does not fill up unattended.

Destinations include internal and external drives, network shares and NAS devices. Every archive can be encrypted with AES-256 before it leaves the machine, and a verification pass reads each finished backup back to confirm it can actually be restored.
