Privacy Policy
Draft — pending company details. This policy is not finished and should not be relied on yet. Anything written in square brackets, such as [REGISTERED BUSINESS NAME] or [SUPPORT EMAIL], is a placeholder. The business owner must replace every one of them with the real registered details before this page goes into use.
This policy explains what personal information licensego.net collects when you buy a software licence from us, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how you can ask us to delete it.
The site is operated by [REGISTERED BUSINESS NAME], registered at [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. If you have a question about anything below, write to [SUPPORT EMAIL].
What we collect
We only ask for what an order actually needs. In practice that is:
- Order and billing details — your name, billing address, and the details required to raise a valid invoice for the sale.
- Your email address — this is the address your licence key and download link are sent to, so it has to be correct. We also use it to reply to you about the order.
- Your phone number, where you give it, so we can reach you if an order cannot be completed.
- Account details, if you choose to create an account — your username, password (stored encrypted, never in readable form) and your order history.
- What you wrote to us — emails and support messages, so that whoever picks up your question can see what has already been said.
- Technical information collected automatically by the site and its server — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and the time of the visit. This is standard web server and security logging.
We do not ask for anything we do not need, and we do not buy personal information from anyone else.
Payment details
Your card, UPI or bank details are entered with our payment provider, not with us. The payment happens on the provider’s own systems, and this site never receives or stores your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or banking credentials.
What comes back to us is the outcome: whether the payment succeeded, a reference number for it, and the amount. That is what lets us match a payment to your order and release your licence key. The payment provider handles your payment information under its own privacy policy.
Cookies
Cookies are small files the site stores in your browser. We use them for the things a shop cannot work without:
- Remembering what is in your basket as you move between pages.
- Keeping you signed in to your account during a visit.
- Carrying your order safely through checkout and back from the payment provider.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the ones listed above, the basket and checkout will stop working, because they depend on them.
Why we use your information
- To take your order, deliver your licence key and download link, and prove the sale happened.
- To answer your questions and help with activation problems.
- To handle refunds, replacements and disputes.
- To meet our tax, invoicing and accounting obligations.
- To keep the site working and to spot fraud or abuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing.
Who else sees it
Only the parties that are needed to complete your order and run the site:
- Our payment provider, to take the payment and to handle any refund or chargeback.
- The service that sends our email, so that your licence key and our replies actually reach your inbox.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the site and its database.
- Our accountants and tax authorities, where the law requires it.
- Anyone we are legally obliged to disclose to, for example under a valid order from a court or authority.
How long we keep it
Order and invoice records are kept for as long as applicable tax and accounting law requires us to keep them, and for as long as we may need them to support a licence you bought or to deal with a dispute. Support emails are kept while they are useful for helping you. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting, then overwritten.
When information is no longer needed for any of these reasons, we delete it.
Your choices, and how to request deletion
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
- Send you a copy of it.
- Correct anything that is wrong — a misspelled name or an out-of-date address, for instance.
- Delete your account and the personal information attached to it.
- Stop sending you anything that is not about an order you placed.
To do any of these, email [SUPPORT EMAIL] from the address you used for your order and say what you want done. We will confirm it is really you before we act, so that nobody else can use this route to reach your data.
One limit worth stating plainly: we cannot delete the record of a completed sale while the law still requires us to keep it. If you ask us to erase everything, we will delete what we can and keep only the invoice record we are obliged to keep, and we will tell you that is what we have done.
Keeping it safe
The site is served over an encrypted connection, accounts are protected by passwords that are stored in encrypted form, and access to order data is limited to the people who need it to run the shop. No system is perfect, but we do not keep payment card details at all, which removes the most sensitive category of data from the site entirely.
Children
This shop is meant for adults who can enter into a contract. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to [SUPPORT EMAIL] and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page. The version published here is the one that applies.
